FOUNDERS AND PHILOSOPHY

"The major thrust of our ministry is to encourage, love and care for the spiritual and natural needs of God's people."

Through a tremendous leap of faith and complete dependence on God, Pastor Bill Pope and his wife, Sharon, responded to the ministry call placed on their lives. They received the great vision for Encouraging Words Ministries only a few short years ago, but the presence of divine leadership was evident throughout all phases of the ministry. Unfailing belief and trust in God alone enabled the pair to lead EWM according to God's plan. There has been no looking back...

Founded on Apiril 1, 2008, EWM is a multi-cultural, multi-racial, united body of believers actively involved in proclaiming the word of God in the local, national and international communities. The focus of EWM is leading God's people towards establishing and developing a strong and healthy relationship with God.

MISSION AND COVENANT

Mission: To guide mankind into establishing a relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost

Covenant:

Having been led, as we believe, by the spirit of God, to receive the lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this Church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, and ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully to support the ministry in its mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, meet the expenses of the Church, and provide for the relief of the poor, the saints and the elders.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and in distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.

Key Verse:

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
